Compact Framework 2.0 team needs to finish the .NET CF 2.0 release.

It is evident that the CF 2.0 team needs to be pulled out of whatever they are working on in WCF and come back to finish the .NET CF 2.0 release.

I keep hearing "We are listening", but I think we've said enough that it is now time to start producing. The Compact Framework 2.0 team needs to finish the .NET CF 2.0 release.

I am not sure what the comment here is ... NETCF 2.0 shipped last year with VS 2005.

The point is it shipped without proper documentation, code samples to support developers getting up to speed, or any details on how to properly use the new features that were released with it. Installing the SDK gives you a few new technical articles, but 90% of the documentation is from the 1.0 release. There are no good managed code samples in the new Mobile 5.0 section. They are all in C++. We should have real world sample applications using the new features released in 2.0.

They should also include samples on how to encrypt data going over the wire in a similar fashion to WSE when using web services. More and more mobile apps are hitting Web Services and they need simplified tool support to secure them with out incurring the SSL overhead.

So what I am saying is that only one half (the assemblies) of NETCF 2.0 shipped last year with VS 2005, the other half (proper documentation and code samples) still needs released.
